Design

I think the design is good; the material feels higher quality than I expected from seeing them in photos and other reviews.

The earpads are quite comfortable, and the headband is made of a material that’s very similar—or even the same—as the earpads.

In hot weather or when wearing them while exercising, you’ll sweat quite easily, but thanks to their coating, sweat doesn’t linger on the earpads—which is a plus.

The material is like a matte plastic that can be quite prone to scratches; it feels sturdy enough, but when you open them like this, they make a noise.

Sound - How I perceive it?

Due to the design—I think because of the size of the ear pads—the bass in particular can sound a bit distant; this is more noticeable if you press down on them slightly.

This improves when using any of the ANC modes, but it’s something to keep in mind.

Their sound right out of the box can be a bit muffled and lacking in detail.

Here is the EQ setting I used, and I like the sound quality it produces; the highs are detailed without ever being harsh.

30hz -2db 62hz -1db 125hz -2b 250hz flat 500hz flat 1khz +1db 2khz +2db 4khz flat 8khz flat 16khz +2db

Bass

The bass isn't clean; it has punch, and the sub-bass takes center stage, but it can sound a bit muffled.

The app has a Dynamic Bass feature; at first listen, it might seem like it distorts, but I think what’s actually happening is that the driver is vibrating, and you can feel this if you touch the earbud.

It’s not entirely enjoyable for every genre, but I think it’s fun enough if you ever feel like listening to powerful sub-bass.

It’s worth noting that the powerful bass is lost when listening in normal mode; you can tell that the sound signature shifts to a more neutral tone even when you enable dynamic bass mode.

To get the most powerful bass possible, you should use them in ANC mode or transparency mode; there’s very little loss in sound quality when listening to music in either of these modes.

Mids

Warm tone, forward and good clarity over all the range.

Treble

The highs are somewhat overshadowed by the presence of the lows, but this improved after boosting the volume by a couple of decibels in the app.

They aren't sibilant even with this EQ setting; they're smooth and have good extension.

Soundstage

I think the soundstage is good; even though it's a closed-back design with a bass-heavy sound, it has a good sense of stereo separation.

LDAC

We can use them by connecting them via a USB cable, and their maximum sampling rate in this mode is 990kbps or 96khz - 24 bits.

I don't notice a significant improvement when using them with the LDAC codec over Bluetooth; I'd only use them this way if they ran out of battery, but I don't think that'll happen to you

ANC

The ANC modes are fine; I think they’re slightly inferior to what I hear on the H3 and Air5 Pro+.

The noise cancellation sounds to me like it’s trying to lower the volume of outside noise, but it doesn’t reduce it as much or as effectively as the other models.

Still, I think they’re fine and do the job.

Connectivity and battery life

The connectivity is excellent; they support simultaneous connection to two devices, though this feature is disabled if you enable the LDAC codec on Android.

They feature Bluetooth 6. I haven’t experienced any connection drops, and when I enabled game mode, I didn’t have any signal interruptions like I did with the H3s back then. They also connect quite quickly to paired devices.

The brand promises up to 95 hours, and I have no doubt that’s true—I found that they lasted for days without dropping below 100% while using them in ANC mode, with the AAC codec, and at a volume of about 65%.

They last quite a while even when using the LDAC codec on Android; I don’t have the exact number of hours here, but Soundpeats definitely delivers on its promise.

I tested the cove pro´s on: iPhone 12, Galaxy s10e, Galaxy S8 (custom rom), MacBook Air M1& PC W10-W11.

APP

The Soundpeats app was recently updated, and now it feels smoother to me. This isn’t specific to this new version, but rather to the earbud model itself; it has extra features compared to other models I’ve tried from the brand.

I didn’t find the Dolby sound particularly enjoyable in either of its two modes; on this Samsung phone, it seems to perform better for both music and video.

It sounds a bit more natural; the Soundpeats sound like room reverberation to me, while the Samsung version does provide a better sense of three-dimensionality.

We don’t have the ability to customize the physical button shortcuts on the earbuds like in their other models, but as they come out of the box, I find them quite practical—it’s just a matter of reading the manual and getting used to them, and they work very well.

Conclusion

I like the sound quality; they’re quite comfortable, and the battery life is excellent. However, I find the ANC and transparency mode to be slightly inferior to those of the H3 and Air5 Pro+.

I think that for the price they usually go for, they’re definitely worth recommending.

You can often find coupons and discounts on Soundpeats headphones, and at this price, I think they’re a good deal.

I’d like to thank Soundpeats for sending me these Cove Pro earbuds to review; this is now the third model from the brand we’ve reviewed on the channel. Best regards to them.
